Observing the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

Bangladesh Extension Education Services (BEES) organized diverse programs to honor the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Shantiganj, Shunamganj.

At 10 a.m., a poignant wreath-laying ceremony unfolded at the Shantiganj Upazila Parishad premises. Teachers, students, and officials united in reverence, paying homage to the visionary leader whose legacy continues to shape the nation. The event drew community leaders and Biz representatives, including Chairman Abdul Basit Sujan, UP Member Taibun Nescha, and Abdul Tahid, President of Shibpur Private Primary School Parichjalna Committee.

The morning ceremonies set the tone for a day filled with meaningful activities. The grounds of Shivpur Private Primary School in Dungria village became a hub of creativity at 1:00 p.m., hosting a vibrant poetry, ghazal, and essay competition involving enthusiastic student participants.

Following the competition, a reflective discussion on Bangabandhu’s life unfolded, accompanied by a special prayer for the souls of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s family. The day culminated in an awards ceremony, with Enamul Haque, former president of Shibpur Private Primary School Management Committee, leading the distribution of prizes to the talented young participants.

Nilu Kant Pal, BEES program officer, emphasized, “Education extends beyond textbooks; it’s about instilling the values that great leaders like Bangabandhu stood for.”

The commemorative day brought together head teachers, assistant teachers, and students from various private primary schools affiliated with Biz, scattered across different unions of Shantiganj Upazila. These schools play a crucial role in promoting education and community development.

*As the sun set on this day of remembrance, the echoes of unity and homage lingered in the air, a testament to the enduring impact of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s legacy.
