In a heartfelt tribute to Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the non-governmental organization Bangladesh Extension Education Services (BEES) commemorated Sheikh Russell Day-2023 with various programs.
The day started off at 10 in the morning, as BEES officers gathered at the Upazila Parishad square to lay a wreath on Sheikh Russell’s portrait. The solemn ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Shantiganj Upazila Executive Officer Sukant Saha, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Lecturer Noor Hossain, Female Vice Chairman Dulon Rani Talukdar, Shantiganj Upazila Awami League President Shitangshu Shekhar Dhar Situ, Jaikals Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Basit Sujan, Business Program Officer Nilu Kant Pal, and Shibpur Private Primary School Head Teacher Jahangir Alam.
Continuing the commemoration, a vibrant series of events unfolded at 11 am. BEES organized a painting and essay competition, followed by a prize distribution ceremony and a thoughtful initiative of food distribution among the needy children of Shibpur Private Primary School.
Abdul Tahid, President of the Managing Committee of Shibpur Private Primary School, presided over the prize distribution ceremony. The chief guest, Abdul Basit Sujan, Chairman of Jaikals Union Parishad, handed over prizes to the talented students. The event also witnessed the presence of special guests, including Jayakals Union reserved seat women member Taibun Nescha, Business Program Officer Neelu Kant Pal, and esteemed coach Rabindra Talukder.
The occasion was a vibrant blend of celebration and community spirit, with students, parents, and community members coming together to honor Sheikh Russell’s legacy. BEES, through these initiatives, continues to emphasize the importance of education, creativity, and compassion in building a brighter future for the younger generation.
